On this very special episode of Something for Nothing: A RUSH Fancast, we discuss the under-appreciated--even by Alex, Geddy, and Neil--Caress of Steel. The album has some amazing highlights and some not so amazing highlights, but highlights all the same. Topics include the Necronomicon, Victoria Day, and the French Revolution. And, of course, we discuss the songs. Join us as we go down the tubes with Caress of Steel!

Great info about the guillotine, Gerry. I didn't know this. Even my son who took advanced European history didn't know this when he learned about the French Revolution. I like Necromancer for a few reasons. Being a Tolkien fan, the cover art is very significant because there really isn't much artwork of Sauron (except as an evil eye or just an exposed mouth in a covered body of armor). And there is hardly any artwork of Sauron as a Necromancer because he's supposed to be invisible (like in the recent movies). Another reason I like this song and Lamneth is the ambition of the band to try ideas. Both songs were the foundation for 2112 which was a foundation for Hemispheres.
